Reflections
It was about this time last year that I turned in my resignation from the hospital I had worked at as an RN for thirteen years, closing the door on a significant stage of my life while creaking open another with possibilities.
No longer a practicing nurse, I had to embrace the difficult words I’d been avoiding for years, “I’m a writer!” Or, how I started the year, “I stay home with the kids now…and…um…I’m writing books.” Cue strange apologetic/hopeful smile.
In some ways I can’t believe it’s been a whole year, but in others, it seems a long time ago. I’ve coasted on the highs of writing contests, the thrill of getting a literary agent, and the hope of what the future might bring. But more than that as I look back on each step along my path, I see God’s knowing hand already ahead of me.
When I turned in my notice, I had no idea how being home with a flexible schedule this year would become so important or how my mom would need me.
But, God provided.
Phillipians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.
So as I look to the hopes of a new year, I thank God for providing for the last one, even before I needed it.

Are you cold? I am.

I love this! A truly great reminder – He provides even before we know we need it.
